Congratulations Pack 3000! Our August 30th graduation ceremony was certainly different this year, but we appreciate everyone coming out and enduring the August heat to graduate with their dens!

July 2020 hike
Pack 3000 gathered on July 11 for a summer event to explore the great outdoors at our very own local Birmingham Park. Thank you parents and leaders for helping to make it a safe and fun event!
March Den Meeting
For our March Den Meeting, Den 4 learned about different kinds of robots (including Mr. Phil’s favorite: the Mars Curiosity Rover!) and then tried their hands at building their very on tiny “bristlebots”. These activities were part of the robotics elective (#1 identify 6 tasks performed by robots and #4 build your own robot). We […]
Rocket Day / Blue & Gold Celebration 2020
We had beautiful weather on Sunday March 1st for two combined pack events: the Blue & Gold celebration and Rocket Day. Pack 3000’s Blue & Gold celebration honored the founding of Scouts BSA, complete with blue and gold cupcakes. Afterwards our scouts took turns launching (and mostly recovering!) their very own homemade rockets. Thank you […]
February 2020 pack meeting
The theme for this month’s pack meeting was “Reverent”. In addition to our usual activities, we also distributed popcorn fundraiser prizes (please see your den leader if you missed the pack meeting) and also distributed camp cards (see Hemang Shah if you would like to participate).
February Den meeting
The February Den meeting for Den 4 featured the “Baloo the Builder” adventure, with our scouts learning about tools, tool safety, and planning projects. The featured project was a Cub Scout train!
2020 Popcorn Top Seller Event
The Atlanta Area Council hosted a celebration for the top sellers in the 2020 popcorn fundraiser campaign at the Aurora Cineplex in Roswell, GA. Congratulations to all 4 qualifying top sellers from Pack 3000: Carter Maciel, Zachary Hamil, Thomas Carns, and Benji Vendryes!
Den 4 at the 2020 Pack 3000 Pinewood Derby
Den 4 built some great cars and had a great time at the Pack 3000 Pinewood Derby! Congratulations to our den race winners: Anderson Kimball (1st place), Zachary Hamil (2nd place), and Carter Maciel (3rd place). We had 100% participation and some really creative cars!
Northern Ridge District Banquet
The Northern Ridge District (which encompasses Roswell, Alpharetta, Milton, and Johns Creek) held their annual banquet on January 25 to review the previous year, plan for next year, and honor our most exceptional scout leaders. We are fortunate to be part of such a successful and high-energy district. Pack 3000’s very own Hemang Shah earned […]
2020 Pinewood Derby
The 2020 Pinewood Derby was a great success, with entries from every rank (Lions through Arrow of Light) plus parents and siblings. Thank you to Scott Brown (Wolf den leader) for organizing the event, and thank you to all of the volunteers who helped the day run smoothly. This year’s overall champion was Liam Finan, […]
Pinewood Derby Check-In
Thank you to all of our intrepid racers and diligent inspectors for making the pinewood derby check-in a success! Our scouts (and parents and siblings) brought some really impressive cars this year.
January Den Meeting
We completed the “Make it Move” elective adventure at today’s den meeting, learning about (and experimenting with!) all sorts of machines, including popsicle stick chain reactions, pulleys in different configurations, levers, and Rube Goldberg contraptions. We specifically did the following components of Make it Move: 1. Create an “exploding” craft stick reaction 2. Make two […]
The teepee is back!
Have you seen the new teepee at the BUMC scout compound? We are thrilled to have this local landmark back in action! Thank you Troop 3000!
Ed’s Speed Shop 2020
Thank you for coming out to Ed’s Speed Shop on Saturday January 11! The weather was messy (per speed shop tradition), but it takes more than that to deter our pinewood derby car designers. And besides, there is nothing like hot chocolate and donuts when the weather is bad. It looks like we are going […]
December pack meeting
The final Pack 3000 pack meeting of 2019 was one to remember! The pack met its popcorn fundraising goal (and then some) and earned a pizza and ice cream party. Not only that, but 13 (!!!) of our cub scouts raised enough money to earn the very special privilege of throwing a pie in the […]
Den 4 December meeting
At our December 8th meeting, our scouts learned all about safe and responsible use of pocket knives! They completed the “bear claws” requirement (combining parts of 3a and 3b by whittling soap and practicing opening letters) and also fulfilled the requirements to earn a “whittling chip”, which gives them the privilege of using pocket knives […]
Den 4 November meeting
Our scouts gathered at Autrey Mill’s Scout Day on November 16 to complete the “Fur, Feather, and Ferns” requirement. We had a great time, and the volunteers there did a wonderful job setting up stations for the scouts to complete their adventure requirements. Highlights included observing snakes and turtles in their visitor’s center, looking for […]
Den 4 at the Pack 3000 fall field trip
Den 4 had a great time on the Pack 3000 fall field trip. As one of the bigger dens, we got our very own (and very patient) tour guide for most of the night. Some of our favorite creatures were the sting rays and jellyfish. The scout leaders are also very pleased to report that […]
October pack meeting
The theme for this month’s pack meeting was “kind”. It was also an extra spooky pack meeting as the scouts raced spiders, tried to guess what was in buckets of “eyeballs”, “spider legs”, and “worms”, and “bats”, and designed their own skeletons.
2019 Fall Field Trip
Pack 3000 had a great overnight trip to the Tennessee Aquarium on Saturday, October 26. We saw an IMAX movie about rescue dogs, toured the aquarium, learned about, watched, and touched all sorts of animals (including a rather messy legless lizard), saw what happens “behind the scenes” at night, ate pizza, and last but not […]
