About Pack 3000

Mission

Pack 3000 is committed to delivering the Scouting America program by helping young people develop character, leadership, citizenship, and personal fitness. Guided by the Scout Oath and Scout Law, we provide fun, family-oriented experiences that encourage youth to grow into responsible, caring, and engaged members of their communities.

Chartered Organization

Pack 3000 is based in Milton, Georgia, approximately 45 minutes north of Metro Atlanta, and is part of the Atlanta Area Council of Scouting America.

We are proudly chartered by Birmingham United Methodist Church, which serves as our charter partner and meeting location. Pack meetings are typically held monthly at Birmingham United Methodist Church, providing a welcoming gathering place for Scouts and their families.

Pack 3000 is led by a team of dedicated volunteers who are committed to providing a safe, engaging, and rewarding Scouting experience for every family.

Why Families Choose Pack 3000

Pack 3000 welcomes boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade from Birmingham Falls Elementary School, Summit Hill Elementary School, and other schools throughout the Milton and North Fulton communities.

Age-Appropriate Programs

Scouts participate in a program tailored to their grade level:

  • Lion (Kindergarten) – A fun introduction to Scouting designed for our youngest Scouts.
  • Tiger (1st Grade) – Families and Scouts explore the fundamentals of Cub Scouting together.
  • Wolf (2nd Grade) – Scouts begin discovering new interests and adventures.
  • Bear (3rd Grade) – Scouts take on greater responsibility and earn achievements such as the Whittling Chip.
  • Webelos (4th Grade) – Scouts build outdoor skills and prepare for the next stage of Scouting.
  • Arrow of Light (5th Grade) – Scouts develop independence and leadership while preparing to transition into Scouts BSA.

Small Group Experience

Each rank is organized into dens of approximately 5–10 Scouts. Dens are led by parent volunteers and typically meet twice per month during the school year, creating strong friendships and opportunities for individual growth.

Adventures Throughout the Year

Pack 3000 is all about having fun while learning new skills. Activities may include:

  • Pinewood Derby races
  • Model rocket launches
  • Family campouts
  • Hiking and outdoor adventures
  • Community service projects
  • STEM activities
  • Campfire programs and skits
  • Overnight field trips

Past overnight adventures have included destinations such as Space Camp, the Georgia Aquarium, the USS Yorktown, and the McWane Science Center.
