This summer, Cub Scout Pack 3000 laced up our hiking boots and headed outdoors to celebrate TrailJam with hikes at Leita Thompson Memorial Park in Roswell and Providence Park in Milton.
TrailJam is all about encouraging Scouts, families, and outdoor enthusiasts to get outside, explore local trails, and enjoy the many benefits of spending time in nature. For our Pack, it was the perfect opportunity to slow down, unplug from screens, and discover the amazing parks and green spaces right here in our community.
Every Trail Is an Adventure
Our Scouts explored wooded trails, crossed streams, searched for wildlife, and enjoyed the beauty of Georgia’s forests while hiking together as a Pack.
Along the way, Scouts practiced important outdoor skills while learning that every hike is more than just a walkโit’s an adventure waiting to happen.
During our hikes, Scouts enjoyed:
- ๐ฅพ Exploring local hiking trails
- ๐ณ Learning to appreciate nature and wildlife
- ๐ฆ Looking for birds, insects, and native plants
- ๐ค Encouraging one another along the trail
- ๐ง Practicing outdoor safety and staying hydrated
- ๐ Building confidence with every mile
Whether it was a Scout’s very first hike or one of many outdoor adventures, everyone had the opportunity to challenge themselves, make new friends, and enjoy the fresh air.

Adventure Is All Around Us
One of the great things about Cub Scouting is that you don’t have to travel far to have an adventure. Beautiful parks like Leita Thompson Memorial Park and Providence Park provide the perfect setting for families to connect with nature while spending quality time together.
Our Scouts discovered that adventure can be found on every trail, around every bend, and beneath every tree.
Growing Through the Outdoors
Hiking helps Cub Scouts develop much more than physical fitness. Every trail teaches valuable life lessons, including:
- ๐ Confidence through trying new challenges
- ๐งญ Respect for nature and Leave No Trace principles
- ๐ Teamwork by encouraging fellow Scouts
- ๐ฟ Curiosity through observing the natural world
- ๐ Resilience by reaching the end of the trail together
These experiences help build character while creating memories that last long after the hike is over.
Thank You to Our Families
Thank you to all of our parents, leaders, and volunteers who joined us on the trails this summer. Cub Scouting is at its best when families explore together, and seeing our Scouts laughing, learning, and encouraging one another made these hikes a wonderful success.
